Sunshine Kids Radian Car Seat Travel Bag - Black

Product Description

sunshine Kids Radian Travel BagDesigned especially for the sunshine Kids Radian Car Seat, this new bag is a backpack, shoulder bag, and carry case all-in-one! With wide, comfortable shoulder straps, it makes travel easy and clean.

Customer Buzz
When I saw this, I thought, FANTASTIC! I travel on planes with my radian carseat, and also am a member of a community carshare, so I have to carry it, and my child/stroller to and from the car each time. I had been using an over the shoulder strap, but the Radian is heavy, and it was very uncomfortable.

This backpack works well, in that it puts the weight on the two shoulders, as it should. However, the straps hook onto the main bag on a D-ring behind your neck, with big plastic hooks. These hooks grate on your neck/back vertebrae. Badly placed. There must be many other comfortable ways to attach the straps to the main body.

The bag only fits the Radian one way, as it is totally fitted to the Radian's shape. No loose space, no manouvrability. It fits well, but exactly, which is a hassle when dealing with putting it on and taking it off quickly on planes and transferring from car to stroller. Extra space would allow to put some other items into it as well: a blanket, stuffed toy etc. As wearing this precludes carrying another bag on your back, it would be nice to have a wee bit of space, a couple pockets etc. As is, it will ONLY fit your Radian.

I have only used this to transport the Radian to and from the car on foot, and on one trip in the plane, ie to the taxi, from taxi to luggage cart, to plane and off again, and where the D ring is to attach the backpack straps, the fabric has totally pulled away from its backing. It is no longer waterproof there, and not solid. There is no reinforcement of the rather thin material at the point of attachment, and I fear it will give out completely soon. I only owned it for perhaps two months when this happened: perhaps 4 car trips and one round-trip plane ride. I would expect something made for travel to be more solid.

The zipper is also very small and not solid, and has only one slide on it, so you cannot open it from any angle, only from the end and zip it all the way around. As it fits so tightly, you have to tug to make it fit perfectly to close the zipper.

So 5 stars for the idea (what better thing for a portable folding carseat than a backpack?), 3 for the design, and -1 for the materials and construction.

Customer Buzz
I wish Sunshine Kids had put as much thought into their carrying case as they did the Radian Car Seat. It seems someone miscalculated the measurements of the car seat when creating the cover. The cover is made to fit so very snuggly that it takes my husband standing on the folded car seat while we wiggle it into the case...and forget putting the rear-facing base in the case - they simply didn't expect you take that along. The car seat has traveled with us on about 8 trips (16 flights) and the bag is already pulling apart at the seams. If you bought the folding car seat, just go buy a duffle bag with wheels to travel with the car seat.

Customer Buzz
We've been through three of these for the two Radian seats we own. Not one of them has has lasted more than two uses before a seam rips or a zipper breaks. The fit is impossibly tight and if you don't get the seat in perfectly, the zipper will not close without breaking. I finally bought a couple of $12 duffels at Target which did the job and look much sturdier. To quote another reviewer, "Nice idea... terrible quality".

Customer Buzz
While I looked for this product exhaustively and was so excited to find it, I'm sorry that I spent the extra $60 now (I had to buy 3). This product is form-fitting and has no markings or instructions to tell you which way it fits over the car seat. If, like me, you just think you can tug the zipper up over the carseat, you'll find that you are not only wrong, but you'll blow the zipper and the seam, leaving you with nothing. Skip it and just check the carseat in with your luggage if your taking it on travel....

Customer Buzz
Yes I have a radian 65. First trip with this bag, seam broke at the airport. Strap broke within a few hours. Company did send us a new one but I don't anticipate it will be any different. And we followed all instructions. Don't buy this product.

Customer Buzz
I had to return this item because the description did not indicate that it was for a specific type of carseat. I was quite surprised when I opened the package. If you don't have this brand of carseat, look at another manufacturer such as graco.

Customer Buzz
Bought this product to carry our new seat through the airport. First there were no instructions to tell you that there is only one way to make this seat fit into the bag. When we finally turned it over and a around and zipped it closed it started to tear out below the end of the zipper. On the way to board the plane the shoulder strap came unsewn from the case, causing the seat to fall on the floor and almost hitting someone in the leg. This little accident caused a bigger rip in the seam and by the time we came home we just wrapped up the case with green duct tape so that it would stay closed. Good product "in" the case - but certainly "not" the case.
Unhappy Grandma

Customer Buzz
We ordered this seat carrying case for our cross counry trip. The very first time we put our son's seat in it, the seam ripped and the whole side was exposed. When we checked it to board our flight we removed the straps like you would any other piece of luggage and upon return to us, the place where the clip to the strap fits in was ripped off. We have requested a replacement case but have not used it yet. If it is anything like our first experience, I would not recommend this product. It is a good idea and I can see how this could be a nice way to transport this rather heavy seat, but I think they should re-design how they reinforce the stitching around the strap clips and the edging.

Customer Buzz
This case fit our Radian seat perfectly (once you figure out the correct orientation, which is not immediately obvious and there are no instructions).

However, the case lasted barely half a trip. During the first half, a small tear developed where the backpack straps meet the body of the bag. It didn't look bad enough that it would cause a problem on the rest of the trip. However, when I loaded the seat for the return trip to the airport, the zipper broke making it impossible to close the bag, and thus rendering the bag incapable of holding the seat. Which made life with all of our luggage, plus a seat that I now had to somehow carry, very difficult indeed.

Note that this bag was only used transporting the seat to/from the airport, it wasn't like it was mistreated in checked luggage or something. Very disappointing.

Customer Buzz
I like the idea of carrying your carseat on your back in a backpack, but this product is not well-designed. Even after my husband and I folded our Radian 65 down completely we had a very difficult time fitting it in this bag--it was as if the bag were designed for a different seat. The zipper broke as we were trying to get the carseat into the airport. We ended up having the airline put our seat in a plastic bag and checking it with our luggage. We threw this bag away.

Sunshine Kids Stuff 'n Scuff Seat Protector - Black

Product Description

Stuff n Scuff features washable, waterproof fabric to keep mud and dirt off the back of your vehicles seat. The pop-open design maintains its shape providing full seat protection. The large cargo pocket holds everything. Fastens easily around any head r

Customer Buzz
This seat protector is okay. It does what it's supposed to do. Materials aren't overly impressive but maybe I expected more. The mesh net feels cheap but that's more perception than fact.

Customer Buzz
I have used this product for over five years and it has been through three vehicles and still holding up. It is starting to show a little wear so I am purchasing new ones. I strongly disagree with the previous reviews on the quality, unless your child is an animal or monster, these will work for you perfectly.

Customer Buzz
The idea is very cool. Installed super easy and fast. As other reviews have mentioned, it is thin and breaks easily. The first part to break will be the strap around the headrest. But with my super dooper handyman skills....I safety pinned it back together. The outside of the whole item has a frame around it that is tougher so I have the safety pin around that and then into the fabric of the tie. I did put about 3 or 4 pins on each side. My son hasn't even noticed the pins and he can't reach them anyways. I did the other side as a preventative measure. It probably doesn't look the best, but it works and I have not had a problem since. The bottom of the item does slide esily too most times. It is always off a little to one side or the other rather than staying centered. Okay, the next part to rip is the net.....but luckily that little snap in the middle still makes it usable. My son keep his sunglasses in there and randon small toys. He loves it. And when you are trying to get them loaded up and have full hands, it is so handy just to throw whatever you have (that they insist on you carring of course)in the net, then buckle them up, then take it out of the net and toss it on their lap before closing the door. Even though it is cheap and is 100% guarenteed to break, I would buy it again. There aren't many options for this and this is descent. I have it in a midsize SUV (Mitsubishi Endeavor) and it fit great. The next one I get, I will safety pin first as reinforcement so hopefully it never has a chance to really break. That baby is only 4 months so I have some time still.

Customer Buzz
The ties on this item broke off after only 3 months of use. Very cheaply made. I purchased this item at a Toys R US but could not return it without a receipt which I had misplaced. They wouldn't even do an even exchange...I tried calling the makers of this product directly (SunshineKids) which was a waste of time because although they have a one year warranty, you have to show proof of purchase. The only way to show proof of purchase is with a receipt. Well, things happen and sometimes you lose receipts which I did, so basically there is nothing that can be done. What a waste of $10 bucks as it is now headed for the trash can.

Customer Buzz
Great concept, however even with the ties to hold it down, they're not very durable. Though it is def doing it's job and my 2 year old isn't ruining my leather seats! So far so, so good!

Customer Buzz
I purchased this for my new Envoy Denali which had shape similar enough to the seat protector for it to do its job. My daughter liked to rip her socks and shoes off to grab at the net bag with her toes. Within 2 or 3 days, she had this ripped. I will purchase another to try to flip the bag to the back. I like the black color which matches my leather seats. I rate it so low for quality of manufacturing although I am purchasing another today because there are so few options available.

Customer Buzz
This was a perfect solution for "feet" on the back of the seats and to hold a few toys. It does not hold alot but we have 2-3 books, and 2-3 small toys so its perfect for day to day travel with a little one.

Customer Buzz
This product keeps sticking out of the car seat to the point that we had to tape it down to the car seat. The tying ropes are really silky and slippery and keep getting lose. The protector keeps sticking out also because it has hard edges which do not mold to the car seat. This could have been such a nice product, but it is not practically made.

Customer Buzz
I guess I can't say anything real bad about this item. I mainly have it so my son's muddy shoes won't ruin the back of my seat. It's great for that. The stringing that holds it to the seat could be a little different, but I'm not sure how....just seems not finished well for that part. Then again, no one sees it, so who cares! Other than that, the pockets are good and the material is sturdy and very easy to clean. I'm glad I got it.

Customer Buzz
I was very pleased with this product, it covered the back seat and has a handy little pocket to put bottles, wipes, dipers in. I have brought another two for the other car.

  • Customer Buzz
We love Britax products and really like this car seat. It is really big as other customers have said. It fits perfectly in our car with the back seat - seat back reclined a little. We also have the Britax Decathalon which we will continue to use for our younger child. You can't go wrong with Britax products. My only wish is that the Regent could be airline approved, but it is way to big to fit on an airplane.

    Customer Buzz
We love this carseat so much that we have one for both of our children! Last year I was in a car wreck with my 3 year old we T-boned another car going about 40mph. My daughter didn't have a scratch on her and she never even cried! Our '07 Odyssey's frame was so crunched we couldn't get the sliding doors open, but she never knew! I cannot say enough good things about this carseat. Most people that see them in their car seats call it the recliner because of it is so comfy looking. I recommend this carseat to all of my friends. It is super easy to adjust and cleaning the cover is just as easy! If you are looking for a safe carseat you cannot go wrong with this one!

    Customer Buzz
This is a great seat! We bought our first seat when my 2 year old was 38 lbs and to tall for the 5pt harness in the Alpha Omega Elite seat he had. I did a lot of research and at the time (2007) this was the only seat on the market that had a 5 pt harness until 80lbs, so for me there was little choice. We purchased the seat and my son loves it. We ended up buying a second one for my husband's car (b/c still far to young for a booster seat). It fit great both in my mini van and my husband's 2002 Honda Civic. Since the original purchase we have had a second child and are currently looking to buy another for our 16 month old. This seat is VERY easy to install, i have never had any issues with it, it stands up well to the abuse my child puts it through. It is also one of the top seats safety wise (like all britax seats are).

    Customer Buzz
We have a large 2 1/2 year old son and my younger son is about to turn one and it was time to purchse a front facing car seat. We are a Britax family based on their superb reputation for safety and we have been very happy with our Britax marathon car seat. We decided to stick with britax and go for the Regent as we knew this was the last seat we would ever have to buy for my older son. With all of the safety reports recommending 5 point harness instead of booster seats as they get older, I was especially pleased that this seat would take us all the way up to 80 pounds. So we passed the Marathon along to my younger son and purchased the Regent as our secnd seat. Truth be told it is not that much bigger than the marathon and fits perfectly in my Honda Odyssey and Volvo XC90. Installation sounded a lot harder in the manual than it actually was and we had it installed in 10 minutes with the LATCH system.Best of all, my son loves his new "big boy chair" and loves the pockets for storing his toys, blankie, etc. I would definitely recommend this seat.

    Customer Buzz
We have big boys and went through cars seats rather quickly. I discovered the regent and fell in love! I feel like my boys are safe and they are able to be in this seat for many more years. my boys are 3 and 6 and love how comfortable these seats are. I think like all Britax products I have purchased they are well worth the money.

    Customer Buzz
This is the best car seat for bigger kids out there; it goes up to 80 lbs and, if your are looking for a quality, secured, and comfortable ride for your kid this is the one you need!!!!!!! you won't be disappointed.

    Customer Buzz
My daughter has been using this for a year and she likes it a lot. Big, comfort and safe. I am buying another one for my 16-month old next month in the big Britaz annual sale.

    Customer Buzz
Loved it. After reading every review on forward facing car seats and watching every horrific video out there on the benefits of the 5 pt harness, we bought this for our little girl. Well worth the money. It seems so much more secure than the rear facing infant seat we had her in (even though it was the top rated one per Consumer Reports).
She likes it too. She doesn't scream as much as she used to (she's always had an aversion to car seats), but that may be because she enjoys facing forward.
I was concerned about the size, but we have a mid siz SUV and although it is a tight squeeze, we can still fit in 2 adults in the back seat with her.
We were lucky enough to have snagged the car seat at a super low price with free S&H, so the cost issue wasn't an issue at all.

    Customer Buzz
I bought this car seat because the 5-point harness straps are higher than the Graco Nautilius. It is so huge, my son has very little leg room. Same issue in both my 04 Grand Prix and 08 Uplander van. I have no idea how he will be able to use this in a year or two. The other cons are it is hard to install and expensive. Even the car seat technicians had trouble installing it.

    Customer Buzz
I am very diappointed that the Britax Regent or Frontier does not work with older vechicles. I have a 98 Grand Prix and my car is not equipped with the top tether. I was told by Britax that this seat would not work in my vechicle and you HAD to use the top tether. So there went my two options for a 5point harness up to 80 pounds...

Does anyone use this seat without the top tether?

Customer Buzz
We shopped very carefully for a carseat for our son, and once he outgrew the infant seat (Graco SnugRide), we looked to Baby 411's gear guide to see what rated best. This carseat was the winner.

My son is a tad small for his age, but he rides like the king of the backseat when he's in his carseat. This carseat is washable, I can say that for sure! Our son is 3 and eats snacks frequently in it, and we just wipe it down with a baby wipe. Bigger spills can be taken care of by removing the straps and cover, which is easy to do. It's well-padded, cushy, and I feel that the "wings" around the head-area keep my kiddo safer.

The only problem we've had is, it's BIG. We drive a BMW 325i and now that his legs are getting longer, my son is getting a little cramped. With my husband's seat pushed back (when husband drives) it's a tight fit.

Shop around for the best deals on this seat: don't wait until you MUST have one, and you'll have time to sort through the different prices.

Customer Buzz
Britax carseats are super easy to install, and are very comfortable for the baby. I definitely recommend them, and they are worth the money.

Customer Buzz
My family is a Britax family, we have 3 different seats. I would say this is one of the best seats of the Britax family. It gives us plenty of room for my one year old now and can easily see her in this for the many years to come. My three year old has sat in it and still has plenty of room.

She is still currently rear facing, just turned 1 and is only 22 pounds. Will probably keep her rear facing for a little longer, she still doesn't mind getting in it. She often falls asleep as soon as we get down the road.

The fabric is very cute and soft.

Customer Buzz
This carseat is great. I've used it for two boys so far and it's held up fantastic. It's comfy, easy to use, easy to clean and best of all, Safe! I love the length of rear facing.

Customer Buzz
It is a great car seat.
It was expensive (compared to other brands) but worth it!
It is defiantly very safe from all the safety features and well built.
I would recommend this to anyone!
The only slight problem I have with it is my son is bigger for his age and the buckle part is a little hard to clasp and not pinch his leg.

Customer Buzz
the Britax Marathon is working perfectly for our 1 year old. We've only had it for a month but it seems to be well made. I think my favorite feature is the no-tangle straps, which make strapping in a wiggly baby much faster.

Customer Buzz
As a new 59 year old Grandma, I was able to buy this for my car, install it (and I have arthritis) without difficulty and it functions.

Customer Buzz
Very happy with this carseat. It is easy to install, we still have it rear-facing for our 11-month old son. It is solidly built, I feel safe with him in it. Another important thing: Comfort. Most seats, it seems, have just a thin layer of padding atop the hard molding of the seat. This seat, however, is nice and plush.
When we had this seat checked by our local carseat technician at the firestation he said not to use the tether system until we turn the seat around, the Britax website says you can use the tether rear-facing but we see no point, plus there are no anchors in that position in my car.
One negative is the first couple of weeks , we had our son in the seat with the straps in the lowest position and to tighten him in, while pulling on the front tightener, the metal mechanism under the seat was catching on the molding thus preventing us from tightening as much as needed. But the fireman said to loosen the straps and re-tighten. When he gets a little bigger and graduates to the next level strap height, that will not be an issue. Even now after about a month of use, it is not an issue.
Other than that, our son is very happy in his new 'big boy seat'. I would purchase this seat again if I needed to.

Customer Buzz
Easy to install and use. High quality and material. Rated high in saftey. Completely worth the price.

Customer Buzz
Looks great. My chubby 25 pound 5 month old fits well.
I figured out to get him unbuckled I push on the button and pull on the leg straps (not the shoulder straps). I wish the velcro on the sides to hold the straps open was a little bigger or better placed. It takes up a lot of space in our Toyota Corolla but a not too tall passenger can still sit in the front.
